It is said that A Tempestade is basically a Renato Russo solo record, lyrically speaking; and that can be understood. Although most of Legião Urbana's work has been very personal, this one goes even deeper, literally and lyrically - it's poetry.
I dare say this is in the Top 10 of most depressive albums ever recorded. Pain and tears can be felt in each track. Natália is angry and ironic, L'Avventura (tribute to the Antonioni classic) starts a journey through the deepest of human emotions that doesn't cease until the very end, a big cemitery of things that went wrong in one's life.
"No matter what they say, solitude is the plague of the century", Renato cries with his last whispers.
I believe it's a valid comparision between Renato's and Cazuza's last effort, since they were both taken by AIDS, 6 years apart. Cazuza's Burguesia, while a decent album, fails in some level, simply because Barão Vermelho's ex-vocal couldn't sing anymore. While Renato doesn't have the same voice as he used to, he's been able to sing with emotion and hasn't re-recorded anything (with the exception of the only single, A Via Láctea).
He was dead soon after A Tempestade's release, selling more than a million copies without a single concert played. This album was his farewell. "And when I'm gone, please don't cry for me". How can we not?

Disappointing

I partially agree with user Danny. I have appreciated the first Hostel: it was gory, shocking and had a pretty good story, a sense of conspiration going on. I didn't expect much from a sequel, since I didn't think there was much to add to the storyline, but I was still disappointed.
There's not enough blood for the gorehounds, and nothing really memorable. While not a bad movie, it's so run-of-the-mill you'll most likely watch it and not talk about it after a first viewing. Just another one of those movies that try to sell themselves using Tarantino's name. Only it didn't work out on this one.

Persona meets Last Days

I had the highest possible expectations for this one, being a Joy Division fan, and it let me down a little. Control has a huge hype behind it, and it's partially true: it's a beautiful, sensitive movie with superb acting. If you're a fan of the post-punk musical genre (or Joy Division, for that matter), you simply MUST watch this - if you aren't, here's a chance to be a fan, or be annoyed. If not the best piopic of 2007, it's second only to La Môme (Edith Piaf's).
